Simple Shot Recipes for Another Weekend at Home

I think I can speak for a lot of people when I say that I took the bar cocktail menu for granted before quarantine life. Not only is it difficult to stock up on all the ingredients you may need to make special cocktails and shots, it can often be disappointing when you find out you just do not have the same touch as your favorite bartender.

Below are some awesome shot recipes that only require 2-3 ingredients and are easy to prepare. So instead of sticking to beer and wine on another weekend at home, spice up the weekend by giving one (or maybe more) of these great tasting shot options a try:

Crouching Tiger Shooter:

A super simple mix for a great tequila tasting shot.

Ingredients:

  • ¾ oz. lychee liqueur
  • ¾ oz. tequila (Blanco)

Instructions: Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake well. Strain into a shot glass. Enjoy!

Jelly Bean Shooter:

A fun layered shot with a taste that is sweet like candy.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz. Blackberry brandy or grenadine
  • ½ oz. anisette or sambuca
  • ½ oz. southern comfort

Instructions: Pour the brandy or grenadine into a shot glass. Float the sambuca or anisette on top of the first layer by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon. Now float the southern comfort on top of the second layer, also using the back of a bar spoon. Enjoy!

Kamikaze Shooter:

One of the most well-known vodka shots and it is a breeze to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. of vodka
  • ½ oz. orange liqueur
  • Dash of lime juice

Instructions: Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Strain into a shot glass. Enjoy!

Polar Bear Shot:

A mint-chocolate mix that is hard to resist. With plenty of potential substitutes this two-ingredient shot is perfect for great taste without any bells and whistles.

Ingredients:

  • ½ oz. crème de cacao liqueur
  • ½ oz. peppermint schnapps

Instructions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and pour the liqueurs. Shake well. Strain into a chilled shot glass. Enjoy!
